to not expect much from anyone
except myself.

that emotions and vibes and chemistry mean everything
and nothing all at the same time.

that "i told you so" from a friend's mouth doesn't sting
nearly as much as the "you knew better" feeling (because you did).

in all honesty i'm not in a sad space. these are truisms.
