patiently waiting on the green light

the writers bug continues to elude me.

instead.

a bangin poem by friend Doug wrote:

Patiently waiting on the green light
from a Godiva chocolatte
first met
emerald evening
careening to a sapphire night
sweet nothings
keep her beaming

Now...
more than just times' passed
since that event
motives' matured
souls' aged
and we reconvene
at a soiree
share a glass
of ecstasy
conspire to rendezvous
once festivities conclude
in time to make use
of the concoction
previously infused
alone in a room
only two bodies
yet the thermostats
through the roof
passion streaks
then it soothes
lust lurks
while it looms
enamored with emotion
a sleepless dream
soon ensues
arising to the dawn
remnants of the phoenix still in the room

the procession into each day
a little more vivid
at least for two.
